Restored farmhouse

After a century of use, the wood has hardened and gained a well-worn appearance. This adds subtle variations in atmosphere and results in an exclusive look, as in this farmhouse, restored by architect Xavier Donck.

These old, grey 18cm-wide planks create a sober, stripped-down atmosphere.

Nails are first removed from the planks, which are then given new tongue-and-groove joints. Old kiln-dried wood is ideal for giving a warm look to the floor, as in this home: the wood needs no additional protection and is very easy to maintain.
The wood of the coffee table was also supplied by Corvelyn: the planks are around 600 years old and come from ships that capsized in the Bering Sea.
