Holiday home in Knokke

This holiday home in Knokke has been finished in old teak planks throughout. The client wanted a wooden floor that was capable of withstanding the scouring effect of the sand and also had a warm and timeless feel.

Under-floor heating was chosen here: old wood lends itself very well to use with this type of heating.

The planks, even the reclaimed ones, have to be dried in Corvelyn’s special vacuum driers.
The company always uses a mosaic oak under-parquet that is given an epoxy coating, then glued together with a top-quality, elastic two-component adhesive.
The planks are usually laid in the direction of the light coming from the largest windows or parallel to the shortest wall to make the space appear wider.
